That did it. Collins laughed right out loud. "You're ridiculous, man," he informed his friend, glad he'd made an ass of himself on the subway today. "I really missed you. Missed. . .this," he said, indicating the two of them.

Benny winked at Collins, making another kissy face and pretending to check him out. "I suppose I am," he admitted, then sobered quickly at Collins' next comment. "Me too," he admitted, "I'm glad you decided to talk to me instead of kicking my ass."

"Never kick your ass," Collins replied, with a slow smile. "Think about it maybe," he joked. "I'm glad too," he clarified.

"Good to know, man..." Benny let his voice trail off, not sure what to say. They'd gone from sily to seriously so quickly it had thrown him off. "So..." he began, "We getting up, or staying here?"

"S'up to you, man," Collins said, slowly sitting up, his head spinning. "Know I'm too old to sleep on the couch these days," he said, grinning toward his friend, who was a grand total of three months older. "So, I'm going to bed."

"You may be gettin' old, but I ain't," Benny said indignantly, sitting up as well and sighing. "Is suppose I can show you to your room then. Try not to fall over." Benny tried to heed his own words, staggering only a little as he began to move toward the guest room.

Collins chuckled as he swung his legs over the edge of the couch and stood, wavering only a little. He followed his friend a little clumsily into the other room and leaned in the doorway, running one hand over his face.

"The guest room," Benny said with a flourish, though he was sure Collins had already figured that out. "Need anything?"

"Horizontal space," Collins said, grinning drunkenly. "That's about it."

Once again, Benny gestured exaggeratedly to the guest room. "There you have it, good sir. Room service is at seven," he said with a wink, "Or... not..."

"I'm gonna opt for not," Collins said, kicking off his boots and pants and sliding into the bed. "But thanks, man,"

"Anytime, Collins," Benny said tiredly before moving away from the guest room and heading to his own for some much needed sleep.
